St Andrews nanofabrication aims to serve academic and industrial researchers with sample scale devices, and fabrication consultancy. We are a dynamic community of researchers who welcome projects from all disciplines involving nanofabrication.

Our facilities are housed in a state of the art £1.2M 100/1000 clean room, purpose built for nanofabrication, and completed in 2015. In particular our capabilities include photo-lithography and electron beam nanopatterning , metal evaporation, and dry etching.

The instruments within our facilities have been selected for flexibility, and are capable of operating with a wide range of substrates, materials, and resists. Furthermore we can fabricate devices over a wide range of sizes from nanometres to millimetres.

Research conducted with our facilities has included everything from holographic metasurfaces and biological sensing tools, to solar cells and photonic crystals.
